For the past few years, Reliance Jio has been dominating the Indian telecom market. However, recent reports have shown that other telcos are also doing business with Mukesh Ambani’s company. In fact, Bharti Airtel has just released its quarterly results, which show that both the company’s userbase and average revenue per user have increased. In the second quarter of FY 2022, the number of Airtel’s 4G (4G) users grew by 39.9 million (YoY), compared to a marginal increase of 8.1 million. Similarly, mobile data consumption by users has increased by 47.5% on an annual basis. In all, Airtel’s average revenue per user (ARPU) is 153 rupees, according to the report. Bharti Airtel has generated quarterly revenue of Rs 19,890 crore through its India Business Post, which is 18.3% higher than the comparative annual growth. Meanwhile, Airtel’s business revenue has increased by 11.5% year-on-year and this is considered to be quite positive and encouraging for the company or investors.

Airtel surpassed Jio in terms of average income

Airtel has already made a fuss by earning the mentioned record, but at the same time they have also left Jio behind. In fact, Reliance Jio earned an ARPU of Rs 143.6 crore in the same quarter; In other words, their income is 10 rupees less than Airtel. In that case, even if the amount of money is very small, this is a great thing for Airtel and it proves that most of the company’s customers are active.

In this context, the total customer base of Bharti Airtel currently stands at 355 million. Of these, 60% of users (read 192.5 million subscribers) use the company’s 4G connection. However, to add to the success, the company has launched an additional 3,500 mobile towers and 5,600 mobile broadband base stations. This is expected to further increase the company’s customers and average revenue.
