Xiaomi is very active in bringing new technology or feature smartphones to the market. Over the past few years, the popular Chinese company has expanded its product portfolio, but not once has it shifted its focus from the smartphone segment. This year the company has launched several new phones under its ‘Redmi’ or ‘Mi’ brand name. Even the new K series phone Redmi K30S was launched on 28th October. However, before the new phone was launched, information about the next series of K30, Redmi K40, came to light.
According to a report by My Drivers, the Redmi K40 series of smartphones may be launched in the fourth quarter of this year, i.e. at the end of December. The series will be available in the global market again early next year. So far, the company has not made any statement about the series. However, a Redmi smartphone with model number M2011K2C has been spotted on the Network Access Certification website today. Many people think that this phone may be the next K40 series phone of Redmi.
Already there has been a lot of speculation about a possible ‘K40’ series and its features. It is said that the upcoming device will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 chipset. Which will come in the market in a few days.
Since Xiaomi has used the latest Qualcomm chipset in previous Redmi K series phones, it is not uncommon for the next Redmi K40 series to have Snapdragon 875 processors. We’ve also seen the latest Snapdragon 865 chipset in Redmi K30 series phones, so the upcoming ‘K40’ series is expected to have a faster Snapdragon 875 processor and several new features.
An earlier report had said that the Redmi K40 would have a Qualcomm processor with the SM7350 model number, which could be a Snapdragon 775 processor. The Redmi K40 Pro will use the SM8350 model number processor, which will be Snapdragon 875.
