Reliance Jio came first with 4G download speed again. On the other hand, Vi or Vodafone Idea has improved the upload speed. A recent TRAI December report revealed such information.
According to TRAI, Reliance Jio’s download speed in December was 20.2 mbps. Jio has come up with this same download speed customers for two consecutive months. Meanwhile, Mukesh Ambani’s telecom company has also retained the number one position in download speeds for three consecutive years.
In December, Airtel’s performance fell sharply, according to TRAI. Airtel’s 4G download speed dropped to 7.8mbps in December, from 8.0mbps in November. That is at least 2.5 times less than Reliance Jio.
Meanwhile, as before, TRAI is still calculating the speed of Vodafone and Idea separately. Separately, Vodafone and Idea’s 4G download speeds did not differ much in December compared to November. Vodafone’s download speed in December is 9.8mbps. It was the same in November.
However, the speed of Idea was 8.8mbps in November, it increased to 8.9mbps in December. This means that the speed of Vodafone and Idea is a little higher than that of Airtel but it is less than half that of Reliance Jio.
On the other hand, in December, Vodafone gave an upload speed of 6.5mbps. Vodafone ranks first in terms of upload speeds. Vodafone’s upload speed was 6.5mbps in November. In second place is Idea, which has an upload speed of 6.0mbps in December. Airtel has secured the third position by maintaining the upload speed of 4.1mbps. At the end of all is Reliance Jio, whose upload speed in December was 3.8mbps.
TRAI counts data speed with My Speed Application. This speed is measured on a real time basis. The beginning of the new year has brought good news for the Reliance Jio customers. From January 1, Jio users will be able to make free calls to any network in the country.
