Xiaomi is appearing in India with a smartphone at the beginning of the new year. Although the official name of the phone is not known, sources said that Xiaomi’s new model is called Mi 10i. The new handset is offered with a 108MP camera. Xiaomi announced on Twitter that the phone will be launched on January 5, 2021.
A few days ago, China launched Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. This Mi 10i is going to be its rebranded version. According to several reports, this Mi 10i phone will have a combination of 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB RAM and storage. Black, blue and orange-green gradient colours are the three options of the Mi 10i. Last month, China launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G phone. The base model of this phone is priced at CNY 1,599 which is around Rs 18,000 in Indian price. Although the Mi 10i is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G phone, it is expected to be quite low in India.

The Mi 10i handset has a 6.67-inch Full HD + display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750 processor, the smartphone has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage options. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G comes with a 4,820mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. Accordingly, the Mi 10i model is expected to offer the same battery setup. As for the software, the handset is said to have MIUI 12 with Android 10. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G smartphone has a quad-rear camera setup with a primary sensor of 108MP. It also has a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro sensor and another 2MP depth sensor. The Mi 10i smartphone will also be given the same camera setup, the source said.
Other special features include the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G model with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C 2.0, Infrared port, and GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS – several excellent features for connectivity.
However, if this Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G phone is launched in India under another name i.e. Mi 10i, then there is no information about what may change in it. The phone will arrive at the beginning of the new year. There are still a few days left to launch.
