Taiwanese chip maker MediaTek yesterday launched two Five-G chipsets called the Dimensity 1200 flagship and a slightly less capable Dimensity 1100 5G chipset. According to MediaTek, the smartphone chipset comes with unparalleled AI (Artificial Intelligence), camera and multimedia features to deliver a powerful 5G experience. The company claims that the inclusion of Dimensity 1200 and 1100 5G in MediaTek’s Five-G portfolio will give device makers the option to design highly capable 5G smartphones, including top camera features, graphics, connectivity enhancements and more. MediaTek Dimensity 1200
This processor with 8 nanometre processing nodes is said to provide strong performance with low power consumption. It has octa-core CPU design. Where we find an ultra-core in the arm cortex. Its clock speed limit is 3 GHz. There will also be 8 super cores in three arm cortex and 55 efficiency cores in four arm cortexes. With a nine-core Mali-G7 GPU and a six-core MediaTek APU 3.0, Dimensity 1200 will deliver a new level of premium performance.
According to MediaTek, the new chipset will support Ultra-Fast up to 16 Hz refresh rate for fast and fluid user experience. It is capable of supporting a resolution of 1080×2520 pixels. This chipset will offer RAM up to 16GB, HDR 10 video playback, 4K / 60fps recording, 4.8GB / second download speed and 2.5GB / second upload speed.
MediaTek Dimensity will support a single 200-megapixel camera sensor or two sensors up to 32 + 16 megapixels for capturing 1200 photos. It supports AI camera features like AI-Panorama Night Shot, AI-Multi Person Bokeh, AI Noise Reduction. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, multi-mode 5G, 4G, GPS, Bluetooth 5.2, FM radio. Dimensity 1200 SoC has also received TUV Rheinland certification for Five-G performance. This certificate verifies that the chipset will provide reliable, high-performance 5G connectivity and a high quality Five-G experience for users in a variety of situations.
MediaTek Dimensity 1100 5G
This 8nm chipset from MediaTek is designed with octa core CPU. There are 6 cores in four arm cortexes operated at 2.8 clock speed and 55 efficiency cores in four arm cortexes. Here also Mali-G7 GPU has been used.
It will support 1080×2520 pixel resolution and 144 Hz refreshed display for ultra-sharp, zero-lag visuals. Dimensity 1200 chipset will support single 108-megapixel sensor or 32 + 16-megapixel combo sensor for photography.
MediaTek’s Hyper Engine 3.0 gaming technology will support both Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 5G chipsets. These two new chipsets will support artificial Realtime applications for ray tracing and more realistic visuals in mobile games.
Which devices will have MediaTek Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 5G chipsets?
Many people including Realme, Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo will bring MediaTek’s new Dimensity chip phone to the market. The first devices with Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 5G chipsets are expected to hit the market at the end of the first quarter of this year and at the beginning of the second quarter. According to sources, Realm’s X9 Pro will be the first phone with Dimensity 1200 chipset in the market.
