Facebook has recently started to take a slightly different path in order to increase the level of its popularity by leaving the label of a popular social media platform. So a few days ago, in partnership with Ray-Ban, the company launched their first-generation smart glass. It has been reported that Facebook is working to create a sophisticated smartwatch to compete with the Apple Watch. The device will be launched under the newly announced Meta company. A picture of the upcoming smartwatch has already been leaked online. According to a report by Bloomberg, the Facebook Smartwatch may come with a round screen and display notch, which will include a selfie camera. The notch will be similar to what we see on smartphones, but in this case the notch will be seen at the bottom instead of at the top of the screen.
Facebook Smartwatch may be codenamed Milan
The picture of the upcoming smartwatch has been seen inside the Facebook app of Facebook Ray-Ban Stories Smart Glass, which is called Facebook View. This was first noticed by app developer Steve Moser and shared with Bloomberg News. In the leaked image, a control button is also seen on the right side of the smartwatch. The presence of this image in the Smart Glass app indicates that the upcoming smartwatch will be compatible with both iPhone and Android devices through the app. Again the watch may debut with the codename ‘Milan’.
Facebook Smartwatch is coming with camera
As mentioned earlier, the Facebook smartwatch will have a camera, which can also be used for photo, video capture and video conferencing. This watch will come with a detachable wrist strap. Also, there may be a button at the top of the watch case. Note that the camera has not been seen in any brand of smartwatch in the world till date. Even Apple, whose smartwatches are the best-selling and most popular in the world, does not have cameras in their smartwatches. In other words, this upcoming smartwatch from Facebook is going to be the first smartwatch with a camera in the world.
Although Facebook has not yet officially announced the arrival of the smartwatch. However, rumors are circulating that the smartwatch may be launched in early 2022. It is also reported that Facebook (now Meta) is working on three generations of this product.
