Telecom companies added about 36.44 lakh new mobile subscribers in August. Now the total number of mobile subscribers in the country stands at 114.7 crore. This is according to the latest data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
According to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Tuesday, the total number of phone subscribers (wireless and wireline) in the country rose to 116.7 million in August from 116.4 million in July.
Bharti Airtel
The total was 114.4 million in July and increased to 114.7 million in August. The number of mobile subscribers has increased by 0.33 percent. Needless to say, at the end of August, there were 62.4 crore mobile subscribers in urban areas and 52.2 crore in rural areas.
Bharti Airtel added a maximum of 28.99 lakh new subscribers in August. The number of these connections has increased to RS 32.28 crore and with this the number of Reliance Jio connections has increased by 18.64 lakh to 40.26 crore.
At the end of August, the number of Vodafone Idea connections dropped by 12.28 lakh to 30.01 crore. The number of public sectors MTNL mobile subscribers has declined by 6,081. At the same time, BSNL’s mobile connections increased by 2.14 lakh. This information get from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
