7,218 crore loss in 3 months, customer loss! Even if the name is changed, the crisis is not free

Vodafone-Idea has yet to see a profit despite taking the market by storm with one new offer after another. Far from increasing the number of customers, they fail to hold their own market. At least that’s what Vodafone-Idea’s quarterly results show last September.

Vodafone-Idea has recently appeared in a new form. The rebranding has resulted in the debut of the new thinking crop Vi of the two companies. It is getting a lot of response from the people of the country. But its impact was not seen in the company’s accounts. Vodafone-Idea reported the results of the second quarter of the current financial year on the stock market on Thursday. According to statistics, the company has incurred a net loss of RS 7,218 crore in the last quarter. The company’s revenue from the operating sector declined to RS 10,691 crore. The company, which is jointly owned by Vodafone and Aditya Birla Group, had a revenue of Rs 10,644 crore in the same period last year.

Compared to the first quarter (April-June) of the current financial year, the number of Vodafone Idea subscribers decreased in the second quarter. The company had a total subscriber base of 28.98 crore in the April-June quarter. In the last quarter, it has decreased to 26.16 crore. However, the amount of revenue per customer has increased slightly. Vodafone-Idea’s ARPU for the quarter ended September was Rs 119. In the previous quarter, they earned an average of RS 114 per customer.

A few days ago, the financial results of the September quarter were released by another telecom company, Airtel. Their financial health is comparatively a little better. In the second quarter of the current financial year, Airtel’s loss was Rs 63 crore. However, Airtel’s revenue per customer has increased significantly. At the same time the number of subscribers has increased. In the just-ended quarter, it has risen to Rs 162. Last year, Airtel’s average revenue per customer was RS 126.
